Everything people ask before they book
These are the questions we hear most on the phone, grouped by topic. If your question is not covered here, call (719) 504-5824 — a two-minute conversation beats searching a page for the answer to something specific to your job.
Part 1
Pricing and booking
How much does a dumpster rental cost in Pueblo?
Most jobs run roughly $300 to $650 depending on size, debris density, rental length and distance from our yard — a general market range, not a quote. Call with a short description of the job and you will get a firm, flat price on that call.
Is the price really flat, with no hidden fees?
Yes. The quote covers delivery, the agreed rental period, pickup and disposal up to a stated tonnage allowance. The only thing that changes the final number is going over that agreed weight, and we tell you the per-ton overage rate before you book.
How far ahead should I book?
A day or two of notice is usually enough outside of busy periods. Book earlier during wildfire-season brush clearing, right after a hailstorm, and during the busiest stretch of the spring-through-fall building season.
Part 2
Sizing
What size dumpster do I need?
It depends on whether your debris is bulky and light (furniture, framing, cardboard — size up) or dense and heavy (concrete, brick, tile, wet soil — size down and pay by weight). The 20 yard suits most whole-project jobs; the 10 yard is usually right for anything heavy.
What happens if I order the wrong size?
If it is too small, we can swap it for a larger one — an extra haul, but not a disaster. Too large with heavy material is the costlier mistake, since you hit the tonnage allowance long before the container looks full and pay overage on a bigger base rate besides.
Part 3
Permits and placement
Do I need a permit for a dumpster on my property?
No permit is required for a container on your own driveway or job site. The City of Pueblo requires a right-of-way permit and Traffic Engineer sign-off for placement in a public street — call the Department of Transportation at (719) 553-2722 before planning that.
Will a dumpster damage my driveway?
We put boards under the rails as standard to spread the weight. Tell us if your surface is gravel, hard-packed caliche, or a newer pour that has not fully cured, and we will plan the placement accordingly.
How much space does a roll-off dumpster need?
Roughly 22 feet of clear driveway run for a 10 yard up to about 36 feet for a 40 yard, plus 10-12 feet of width and 23-25 feet of overhead clearance for the truck's hoist arm.
Part 4
What can and cannot go in the container
What can't go in a dumpster in Colorado?
Paint, solvents, oils, tires, batteries, hazardous chemicals, gas cylinders, propane tanks and medical waste are never allowed. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) publishes guidance on where that material actually belongs instead.
Can I mix household junk and construction debris?
Yes, general household and construction debris can go in the same container. Keep clean concrete, metal and yard debris separate where you can — it is priced and sorted differently and keeping it separate usually keeps your cost down.
